anyone know what the old chinese measure of weight called a "cattie" is equal to in pounds or kilo's ? I'm reading the water margin, and it says that "Guan Gung weilded a halberd of 81 catties" how much is that?

yeah, 81 x 500 grams is about 90 pounds. That's a heavy weapon.

Guan Gung (chinese god of war) was not in the water margins but in romance of the three kingdoms.
