Very interesting indeed. What you think O?

The Moving Finger writes, and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

i'll say this,

In the 1st vid ,
"the grandmaster"... is ready and willing to close the gap. I would have expected that, Wing Chun and all. For the most part he does. Except he did allow himself to be kicked in the midsection, altought I suspect he didn't even care because he didn't respect the other guys power anyway.

In the 2nd,
I don't know "who is who" or if someone is a teacher or anything. I know that the dude swinging wildly had gotten himself owned quite a few times...at least in the face.

See Dragonclaw,
I actually typed my thoughts, so there...Blowing a rasberry at you.

I think both vids are a poor depiction of the effectiveness of Wing Chun. Both videos show individuals who do not represent the art of Wing Chun effectively... Poor skills very sloppy!

The worst thing was the lame comments the youtube users made about the clips trying excuse the TKD guy's loss.

Hey O,

I see some Wing Chun spirit from the "Grandmaster" in the first clip and....

The second clip looks more like an exercise to help the student react to various attacks that are not "standard" WC atacks. I think that this type of exercise is actually good for the beginning WC students to recognize different lines of attack, but the most important thing is to not lose the WC structure and react with intent.

I saw the Wing Chun in the first clip too, but I'm not sure how much more of the Wing Chun body mechanics are going to be kept in a match against an unwilling combatant of a different style. Though I don't think the guy's a grandmaster, I didn't think it was altogether shabby after reviewing the clip several times. Anyone find any more clips of Wing Chun versus unwilling combatants of other styles for us to compare against? No sifus defending against their students imitating other styles please.

Yeah, I figured as much.
Plus, I think anyone could look like that if you're chasing around another guy who doesn't want to stay close to you.

Funny to me, is..the older I get, the less willing I am to chase. Only when I was younger and cockey. (And I'm not even OLD...hahaha)
